CMRL Age Limit

For the post of Joint General Manager (BIM) candidate’s age should not exceed 43 years, for Deputy General Manager (Finance & Accounts) the upper age limit of 40 years and for Deputy Manager (Planning) the upper age limit is 35 years. Age should be calculated as on 08.06.2021. Age relaxation will be given to deserved candidates.

CMRL Eligibility Criteria

Joint General Manager (BIM):  Candidate should have completed graduation in Mechanical / Civil engineering from recognized Institute or University. Candidate must have minimum 15 years of post-qualification work experience in BIM in AEC Sector. The candidate should be familiar with Nazi work, Revit, BIM360, Rhino and CAD to apply for this post.

Deputy General Manager (Finance & Accounts): Candidate Should Completed graduation from a recognized Institute or University and should be a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or Member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India. Applicant should possess minimum of 13 years of post-qualification experience in executive grade or equivalent at PSU or any government Sectors.

Deputy Manager (Planning): Candidate should complete Civil or Mechanical Engineering with 4 years of post-qualification work experience can apply for this post. Candidate should have knowledge in MS Office, CAD to apply for this post.

CMRL Roles and Responsibilities

Joint General Manager (BIM): Role Bearer should create and execute BIM Plans and Common Data Environment (CDE) and align BIM work. Candidate should act as Technical Supporter for PMIS Software by coordinating with the concerned departments of CMRL like Architecture, Structure, MEP, Estimation and Billing.

Deputy General Manager (Finance & Accounts): Candidate is responsible for verification of all Vouchers. Role Bearer should monitor the entries passed on daily basis including entries for fund transfer and interest on short term deposits and reconcile the same with the relevant ledgers. Candidate is responsible for Preparation and Maintenance of all books of accounts.

Deputy Manager (Planning): Role Bearer should monitor and track project progress and familiar with preparation and presentation of reports. Candidate should co-ordinate with CMRL, GC and contractor Team for data collection and act as a Technical Supporter for PMIS Software by coordinating with the concerned departments of CMRL like Architecture, Structure, MEP, Estimation and Billing.

General Manager Selection Procedure at CMRL

Selection Process in Chennai Metro Rail Limited contains two processes namely Interview then Medical Examination. Interview is to find out candidates’ knowledge, skills, comprehension, attitude, aptitude. Medical Examination is to check Physical Fitness. First time medical examination Fee will be borne by CMRL. If the candidates appearing medical examination for second time, then candidate should have to pay medical examination fee.

CMRL Application Fee

  • Unreserved and other candidates should have to pay Rs. 300 as Application Fee.
  • SC/ ST candidates should pay Rs. 50 as application fee.
  • PWD candidates are exempted from the payment of application fee.
  • Fee should be paid through DD in favour of M/s Chennai Metro Rail Limited, payable at Chennai.
