New Counselling Process for the Promotion of School Teachers – Chennai High Court Order!! Only those who have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) can get a job as teachers in government schools in Tamil Nadu. Accordingly, passing the TET examination is mandatory for working as a teacher and graduate teacher in government schools from class 1 to class 8.

Likewise, the TET exam is conducted every year as per National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE) norms in Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, the Madras High Court has issued an order regarding the counselling of graduate teachers who have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test. In this regard, an order issued to the School Education Department said that only those who have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test should attend the promotion counselling for graduate teachers.
Because, the qualification of teachers is important to give quality education to students. So teachers should be promoted based on their educational qualifications. So, it has been informed that the Tamil Nadu Education Department should issue a new notification in this regard.
