Big Update for IT Employees – Central Govt’s New Work From Home Rules!! The WFH system introduced during the Covid pandemic in India has given flexibility to many employees. The central government has taken some initiatives to extend this system for the next one year who are working in SEZs. In that regard, the central government has announced some plans to ease work from home (WFH) norms for those working in Special Economic Zones (SEZ).

For this, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has announced that the complete list of work from home employees should be released. There are some reports say that, IT companies are having problems in providing this list. Why because IT organizations are unable to made a list of employees who work from the office and home in a hybrid model. For this the IT Department wants complete relaxation from Rule 43(A) without any compliance.

It has been reported that the central government departments are engaged in some sort of discussions in this regard and have now made suggestions to simplify the process. The new WFH rules for SEZ, 50 percent of employees located in Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in the office are allowed to work from home (WFH) for a maximum period of one year. This new rule applies to employees of IT/ITeS SEZ units, temporarily disabled employees, traveling employees and outsourced employees too.
