State Extending Their Summer Vacation For Schools In Odisha: Due to the severe heat waves across the country, many state government has been postponing their school reopening dates by considering the welfare of the students. The scorching sun has made an impact on the curriculum of the students for the forthcoming academic year.
Recently the Odisha education department also extended their summer vacation until June 20; the school that comes under the ‘School and Mass Education Department’ will be reopening on June 21, 2023. This was announced by the department through a letter which states that after careful consideration this decision has been made.

The summer vacation for Odisha schools commenced on May 5 and the department planned to reopen the schools on June 19. According to the IMD report, neatly 31 regions across the state have been recorded 40 degree Celsius and more on Friday.
Some states are taken the first step initiative by functioning the schools for half a day, even for that the attendance of the students is drastically reduced. Many parents are hesitating to send their kids to school due to the sweltering heat waves across all the regions.
