Around 1.35 Lakh Vacancies in Indian Army & Navy – Know What Minister Said in Parliament!!! Army, Air Force, and Indian Navy recruitment are all conducted through a scheme called Agnipath. Initially, the Agnipath scheme, which was launched amid various protests, is now inducting thousands of soldiers.
Accordingly, a total of 135,891 vacancies have been announced in the three services of the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy. Regarding this, the Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt said in parliament that, there are 118,485 vacancies in the army, 11,587 in the navy, and 5,819 in the Air force.
Moreover, according to the ministry records, it has been announced that 40,000 vacancies for JCOs/OR in the army, 3,000 in the navy (Agniveer), and 3,000 in the air force (Agniveervayu). As these Agniveers will not be given pension benefits, they are not required to contribute to the government’s provident fund, the statement said. But it is important to note that they will be given risk and hardship allowances.
