According to the article, Apple Maps advertisements won’t display like the typical banner ads we see on websites. When a user searches in the Maps, they will more closely resemble paid search results, where a restaurant or other company will pay to appear towards the top of the results.Apps like Google Maps and others already use a similar search advertising strategy.
Similar search advertising are already displayed by Apple on the App Store, where developers can purchase placement on the search page for their app. Apple News displays banner adverts as well, but it is a premium subscription service that is only available in a few nations.
The Cupertino-based business intends to increase its yearly sales, according to a prior article by Gurman. He stated in the Power On newsletter that Todd Teresi, Apple’s vice president of advertising platforms, hopes to increase advertising revenue from its current level of $4 billion annually to “double digits.”
In other news, Apple has extended its policy of providing free service repairs for the Apple iPhone 12 and Apple iPhone 12 Pro models. The Cupertino-based business currently offers free servicing for both of these iPhones for two years starting from the date of purchase. This has since been increased to three years.
Recall that in 2021 Apple unveiled a servicing plan for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro. The show deals with a problem that some iPhone 12 devices are having with sound.
