Due to global warming, the climatic conditions have changed and for the past 5 years, the heat rate has reached its max.
The Union Health Ministry has recently instructed all states to conduct daily surveillance of heat-related illnesses and deaths from March 1, 2023. As the summer season has started, it is expected that in some regions the heat rate will be increased beyond normal levels. The health ministry has instructed the hospitals to make an essential preparation to face heat-related diseases.
The Union Health Secretary Mr. Rajesh Bhushan has written a letter to the all-state chief secretaries to take daily surveillance and he also stated that hospitals should store essential medicines, ice packs, and ORS packs to treat the affected persons. The Public was also instructed to take safety measures to beat the heat and to assist the public the city health department has to make adequate plans said Bhushan.
