Assam
Government to publish book on Assam Movement
- Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal announced one-time financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh to each of the victims who suffered bullet injuries during the Assam Movement.
- Assam Movement was held in the 80s against illegal citizens staying in Assam. A book of this movement to be published by the State Government.

Winter Session of Parliament begins
- Winter Session of Parliament begins. Three Bills to replace Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Ordinance, Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Ordinance and Companies (Amendment) Ordinance are slated to be passed. Some important pending legislation like Consumer Protection Bill, Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Amendment Bill and Trafficking of Persons (Prevention, Protection and Rehabilitation) Bill are also expected to be considered during the session.

Nearly 85 percent of UN nations back migration deal
- Nearly 85 per cent of UN member states has agreed on a sweeping yet non-binding accord to ensure safe, orderly and humane migration.
- A total of 164 countries among the 193 UN members approved the agreement in a two-day migration conference in Marrakech, Morocco.
Increase in minimum wages and tax concessions in France
- French President Emmanuel Macron has promised an increase in minimum wages and tax concessions in response to weeks of violent protests.

RBI slaps Rs.1 crore fine on Indian Bank for violating cyber security norms
- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) imposed a fine of Rs.1 crore on Indian Bank for violating cyber security norms. The contravention is with regard to RBI’s directions on Frauds- Classification and Reporting by Commercial Banks.

National Pension Scheme
- Cabinet had decided to make some changes in National Pension Scheme, NPS. Central Government contribution will be raised to 14 per cent from existing 10 per cent in NPS. The entire withdrawal will now be exempted from income tax.

Loan agreement between India and Asian Development Bank
- Centre and the Asian Development Bank signed a loan agreement of 31 million dollars in New Delhi to develop Tourism and boost Jobs in Tamil Nadu.
SC bars media from revealing identities of victims of rape, sexual assault
- The Supreme Court directed that names and identities of victims of rape and sexual assault should not be disclosed or revealed.

Twitter account to spread awareness about cybercrimes
- Home Ministry has launched a Twitter account to spread awareness about cybercrimes and normal precautions to be taken.
- The Twitter handles – @CyberDost – is aimed at enhancing people’s basic knowledge about cybercrimes and precautions to be taken for prevention.
