Abdul Kalam Memorial Day – July 27
- Aul Bakhir Zainulabuddin Abdul Kalam was born on 15 October 1931 in Rameswaram, Ramanathapuram district.
- Served as Chief Scientist in the Federal Government Defense Research and Development Organization. He worked for the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for 20 years.
- Played a key role in five missile programs, including ‘Agni, Prithvi, Akash’ and the Pokhran nuclear test.
