72000 Cabin Crew and 1752 Pilots Applications Received in Two Months: Air India Reports.Air India is fast bringing on talent in all aspects of its business, including for commercial activities, business support services, and operations. Prior to this, the airline has not hired in non-operations sectors for more than 15 years. Air India, which has begun growth plans, announced on Thursday that in the past two months, it has received more than 1,752 applications for pilots and 72,000 applications for cabin personnel.

In less than a week, management postgraduates with three years of experience in ground-based business roles have submitted more than 25,000 applications to the loss-making carrier that Tata Group acquired in January of this year.

Additionally, the airline has received over 2,000 applications for various professions, including developers, architects, cyber security experts, programme managers, and UX visual designers, at a new tech centre in Kerala.

The carrier is fast bringing on talent across all aspects of its business, including for commercial activities, business support services, and operations, according to a release. The carrier had not hired in non-operations areas for more than 15 years.

According to the statement, “the airline’s aggressive expansion plan, which has already seen 17 long-grounded aircraft return to the skies with 12 more to follow, and the lease-in of 30 narrow- and wide-body aircraft over the next 12 months, also necessitates a significant expansion in the flying crew.”

More than 1,752 pilot applications and 72,000 cabin crew applications submitted in the previous two months are being evaluated by Air India as part of efforts to expand its talent pool.

Suresh DuttTripathi, chief human resources officer at Air India, claimed that a whole generation of potential employees has been denied the chance to join the company over the years due to a lack of recruitment.

“To guarantee that our human resource capabilities keep up with the growth momentum and changing needs of the organisation, our talent acquisition programme is concentrated on finding and hiring the right individuals. Additionally crucial to bringing about the cultural shift that will make Air India a top employer is the introduction of new generation talent “Added he.The airline has implemented the “Vihaan.AI” transformation strategy and plans to treble the size of its fleet in the following five years.

The rebirth of Air India, according to MD and CEO Campbell Wilson, is more like a “Test match” than a “T20 match.”
