35th edition of AAHAR, Food and Hospitality fair, begins in New Delhi

The 35th edition of AAHAR – the Food and Hospitality fair began on 4th March 2020.

This five-day-long fair is being organized by India Trade Promotion Organisation, ITPO.

The event will also offer an insight into operational and food safety concerns and innovations to become energy-efficient, finding budget-friendly raw materials boosting productivity, while still aiming for greater profitability.

Pune to host 108th Indian Science Congress in 2021

This will be the fourth time that the city will host the prestigious meet in the last 100 years.

Govt launches “Humsafar” mobile app for doorstep diesel delivery

Labour Minister Santosh Gangwar has launched a mobile application named ‘Fuel Humsafar’ for delivery of diesel at doorsteps.

The app will be used for the fuel delivery services to housing societies, hospitals,other bulk buyers of diesel, etc. in various NCR cities, including, Hapur, Kundli, Manesar, & Bahadurgarh.

Week-long “EKAM Fest” begins in New Delhi

National Handicapped Finance Development Corporation (NHFDC) under the Social Justice and Empowerment Ministry has organised “EKAM exhibition-cum-Fair” in New Delhi.

The fest is organised to promote craftsmanship and products of Divyang artisans and entrepreneurs.

EKAM stands for Entrepreneurship, Knowledge, Awareness, Marketing.

China took the presidency of UN Security Council for March 2020

China has taken over the presidency of the UN Security Council for the month of March 2020 from Belgium to promote solidarity and cooperation in this capacity.

China is the permanent member of UN.

The Security Council was established by the UN Charter in 1945 with the responsibility to maintain international peace and security. The council has 15 members (5 permanent 10 on-permanent members).

Apple has picked this photo of Indian photographer as one of the ‘best’ in the world

Every year Apple across the world puts up billboards of ads of iPhones. These ads on billboards have images that have been clicked using the iPhone. This year to highlight one of its biggest camera feature the Night mode, Apple had invited photographs from all over the world.

Six such images were announced as winners and one of them has been clicked by Mumbai-based photographer Mitsun Soni.

Rs. 4,807 crore deposited into bank accounts of 7.65 lakh farmers under farm loan waiver scheme: Maharashtra CM

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has informed that Rs. 4,807 crore have been deposited into the bank accounts of 7.65 lakh farmers under the Mahatma Phule farm loan waiver scheme.

The chief minister said 35.8 lakh farmer accounts have been uploaded on a special portal created for the implementation of the loan waiver scheme.

UP Government provides Rs 900 per month to farmers willing to keep stray cattle

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that his government will pay Rs 900 per month to farmers willing to keep stray cattle.

In order to solve the problem of stray cattle, the state Government had introduced “Chief Minister Destitute Cow Participation Scheme”. Under the scheme, willing farmers shall adopt cows from the shelters and take them home. To such farmers or adopters Rs 900 was to be provided.

Gurugram-based food delivery giant Zomato has inked a strategic partnership with Master Card and RBL to launch a co-branded credit card.

This partnership will help the online food delivery platform further cement its position in India’s dining market by offering benefits such as Zomato credits on purchases, and increase the reach of its flagship membership program Zomato Gold.

SBI switched to Cash Budget Based Assessment (CBBA) method of assessment for corporate

State Bank of India (SBI) has switched to “Cash Budget Based Assessment (CBBA)” from “Projected Balance Sheet (PBS)” method of Fund Based Working Capital (FBWC) limits for assessment of the working capital requirement for corporates or large advances.

CBBA of limits has been initiated for assessment of the FBWC limits for units with total FBWC exposure of more than Rs 50 crore from the banking system.

Lalit Kala Akademi’s 61st annual awards will be conferred by President Ram Nath Kovind to 15 artistes at the Rashtrapati Bhavan .

Tourism ministry launched Multilingual version of “Incredible India” website in New Delhi

The Minister of State (MoS) for Tourism & Culture, Shri Prahlad Singh Patel has launched the multilingual version of ‘Incredible India’ website and mobile app in New Delhi with the aim to provide more information about India’s tourist destinations, attractions, experiences, and where the value lies.

The website was earlier hosted in only 2 languages i.e. English & Hindi and now it has been launched in 3 new languages i.e. Chinese, Arabic and Spanish.

Sudhanshu Pandey takes charge as new CMD of MMTC Ltd

Sudhanshu Pandey, Additional Secretary at the Department of Commerce, assumed additional charge as CMD (Chairman & Managing Director) of MMTC (Metals & Minerals Trading Corporation). He was the successor of Ved Prakash. Pandey currently discharges functions as the Chief Negotiator of India.

He also served many high-level government and trade delegations to various countries.

The prestigious Azlan Shah Cup hockey tournament has been postponed from April to September this year in the wake of the novel coronavirus outbreak across the world.

he Azlan Shah Cup is an annual men’s international invitational field hockey tournament. The participating teams in this edition’s tournament were Australia, Canada, Japan, hosts Malaysia, Pakistan and South Korea.

Buddhist religious leader in Bangladesh Suddhananda Mahathero passes away

The head of the Bangladesh Bouddha Kristi Prachar Sangha Sanghanayaka Suddhananda Mahathero passed away in Dhaka.

Government of Bangladesh awarded the Ekushey Award to him in 2012.

About Buddism:

According to 2011 census, Buddhism is the third largest religion of Bangladesh constituting 0.6 percent of the population. Most of the Buddhists live in Chittagong division of Bangladesh.

National safety day celebrated on 4 March

The occasion of National Safety Day is celebrated across India every year. The National Safety Council (NSC) observes a National Safety Week to raise awareness for “safety”.

This year’s theme is “Enhance Health & Safety Performance by Use of Advanced Technology.”

The first observance of National Safety Day took place in 1966, on the day when the National Safety Council (NSC) was founded.
