40 Lakh Jobs Will Be Created by PMEGP. Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme-PMEGP which is locally recognizable by the name of Prime Minister’s employment policy is now extended. By this policy the government offers agriculture or micro enterprises will provide employment to unemployed youth across the country. The plan is currently being extended to 2021-22 to 2025-26. People above 18 years of age can apply for PMEGP scheme for admission to their new schemes.

Transgender people can also apply for the PMEGP program. Transgender people are considered as special category applicants. An additional subsidy is provided for the loan amount provided to them. The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, which has already disbursed nearly Rs 20,000 crore in loans, has now approved an allocation of Rs 13,554.42 crore under the five-year extension scheme, the report said.
