Wipro Signs an Agreement to Set up EWS – Over 30,000 Europe Employees under Union!! Wipro, one of India’s leading IT companies, has allowed over thirty thousand of its employees working in Europe to form a European Works Council (EWC). In that way, Wipro has said that it will fulfill the demand of the employees which has been raised since the last year 2019. For this, the company has agreed with the employee representatives.

Commenting on this, Deepak Parija, Senior Vice President and CHRO, Wipro Europe said, European Works Council accreditation proves that Wipro is using European employment standards. EWC aims to develop working relationships with employee representatives from all countries, sharing transnational interests. EWC will be helpful as it integrates employee perspectives consistently.

Meanwhile, Wipro is reportedly engaged in contract negotiations with employee representatives from 13 countries, including the Netherlands, Germany, and Finland, regarding the formation of the EWC. Further, the EWC will elect its chairman and selection committee at a meeting to be held in the first quarter of the coming financial year 2024 and inform Wipro, a statement said.
