State Govt Declared Holiday on December 26 – Important Announcement!! December, the last month of the current year has started today. Like other months, the month of December is filled with some festivals. Especially, this month is a special month for the Christian community. Accordingly, the Christian festival that is Christmas will be celebrated on December 25 across the world.
So, December 25 will be observed as a public holiday across the country too. Notably, this year the Christmas festival falls on a Sunday. Meanwhile, the West Bengal state government led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has ordered a public holiday on December 26, the day after Christmas.

Accordingly, it has been announced that on December 26, government offices, local bodies, statutory bodies, board organizations, state government-controlled institutions, schools, and colleges will be closed across the state. However, this holiday is not applicable in the offices of Registrar of Assurance, Kolkata, and Collector of Stamp Revenue, Kolkata.
