WBSU Recruitment 2020 – Field Worker, JRF Vacancy. Advertisement for engagement of manpower for DBT fundedproject in the Department of Botany, WBSU. The following posts are available in the Department of Botany under PI, Dr” Krishna Ray in a Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, funded project entitled “Demonstration of established bio-restoration technology for ecological restoration of degraded mangrove ecosystem in Indian Sunderbans through site-specific approach across differential degradation gradients” for a period of 5 years based on performance evaluation after every 6 months.

1. Junior Research Fellow

Salary : Rs. 31000/- per month +24o HRA for the initial 2 yrs and likely to be continued as Senior Research Fellow with Rs.35000/- per month +24Yo HRA for next 3 yrs with evaluation of performance after every 6 months.

Essential qualifications: As per DST OM No. SR/S9/Z-0812018 dated 30.01.2019, the candidate should have M.Sc. in Botany/Biochemistry/Microbiology with qualification in NET examination conducted by CSIR-UGC/ICAR/DBT or any National Agencies or GATE

Desirable: Experience in plant ecology, plant physiology, biochemistry, plant molecular biology or microbiology project work. Should be ready for extensive travel between Sundarbans and West Bengal State University frequently (almost every week) for conducting extensive field work as well as rigorous laboratory based experiments.

Upper Age limit: 28 yrs.

2. Research Associate I

Salary : Rs. 47000/- per month +24o/o HRA for next 5 yrs with evaluation of performance after every 6 months.

Position: I

Essential qualifications: As per DST OM No. SR/S9/Z-0812018 dated 30.01.2019, the candidate should have Ph.D. degree in any field of Biological sciences, preferably in Botany or Biochemistry or Microbiology or Ecology with publications in SCI indexed joumals.

Desirable: Proven research experience in plant ecology, plant physiology, biochemistry, plant molecular biology or microbiology. Should have earlier experience of field based research along with iaboratory based work and should be ready for extensive travel between Sundarbans and West Bengal State University frequently (almost every week) for conducting extensive field work as well as rigorous laboratory based experiments.

3. Field assistant/ Field supervisor

Salary : Rs.20000/- per month +24oloHP.A

Position: 1

Minimum essential qualifications: the candidate should have B.Sc. degree in any discipline.

Desirable: Should have experience of field based work. It will be convenient if the candidate belongs to the locality of Patharpratima Block, South 24 Patganas and is ready to do extensive field worlCfrequent travels at Sundarbans.

Upper Age limit: 50 yrs.

4. Field worker

Salary : Rs.l8000/- per month +24o HP.A

Position: 7

Minimum essential qualifications: As per OM No. SR/S9lZ-0512019 dated 2I.08.2019,
the candidate should have B.A./B.Sc. degree in any discipline.

Desirable: Should have experience of field basecl work. Candidates should belong to the locality of Patharpratima Block, South 24 Parganas and should be ready to do extensive field work/frequent travels at Sundarbans.

Upper Age limit: 50 yrs.
