Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) is a state-level examination, which is held once a year, to conduct the recruitment process both for the primary (1-5 class) and for the upper primary (6-8 class) level teachers in the Uttar Pradesh Schools. The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) conducts the UPTET exam.
- The UPTET Notification 2021 is still not released yet, due to the surging COVID-19 cases, the UP government decided to postpone the exam. The uncertainty is still looming on the exam dates. Last year, UPTET 2020 did not hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
- It is also expected that more than 17 lakh candidates are going to appear for the upcoming examination. Back then, a proposal was sent to the government in August, 2020 to hold the UPTET examinations after February 15, 2021.
- The UPTET 2021 examination schedule was previously issued by UPBEB on March 15, 2021, while the notification was expected to be released on May 11, 2021. The application procedure was also set to begin on May 18, 2021, and expire on June 1, 2021. The test was intended to take place on July 25, 2021. However, due to the second wave of COVID-19, none of these things could happen.
UP TET Exam Pattern
- For Class 1st to 5th (Paper-1): There will be a total of 150 questions in the two and a half hour exam, each question will be of one mark. 30-30 questions will be asked in the exam from 5 subjects Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I (Hindi), Language II (English/Urdu/Sanskrit), Mathematics and Environmental Studies.
- For Class 6th to 8th (Paper-2): The total time to complete the paper of 150 questions will be 2.5 hours (150 minutes). In which 30-30 questions from Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I and Language II. Whereas 60 questions will be asked from Science, Mathematics or Social Science. Each question will be of one mark.
