Union revised the Dearness Allowance-DA to the central government employees for every year twice for the sessions of January and July months. As per the media sources, lakhs of the central government workforce will get the hiked Dearness Allowance in the July session for this economic year 2022. If the government made this hike, it will be the first DA hike after December 31, 2019.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic Union government stopped the DA hike from January 2020 till June 30, 2021. After that, the government again started the DA revision from last year July session. As per the 7th Pay commission DA for the central workforce was hiked in July 2021 to 28 percent from 17 percent. The upcoming DB hike will activate from July 1st 2022 onwards.
