Unemployment Rate Steep Down to 6.8% In Q1 2023 – Says Govt. Report: The unemployment rate of India’s urban region declined to 6.8% in the first quarter (January to March) in 2023. A year ago, the rate was 8.2% for the same quarter, According to the report; the above-mentioned data are released by the Ministry of Statics and Program Implementation on Monday (29.05.2023).
The mentioned unemployment details are for persons who are aged 15 years and above in urban areas. The unemployment rates have decreased when compared to the previous year, as the previous year was impacted by covid restrictions.
The unemployment rate of the females in urban areas has declined to 9.2% in Q1 2023 from 10.01% in Q1 2022 and the rate of the male also declined to 6% in Jan-Mar quarter 2023 compared to 7.7% in the same quarter in a year ago.
The rate of employment, job rates, hiring rates, and others are monitored by National Sample Survey Office (NSSO). This shows the healthy situation of the hiring process in rural areas in the current year.
