Lok Sabha to become paperless from next session
- Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has announced that the Lower House will become paperless from the next session. This move will save crores of rupees to the Government.
Cabinet decides to introduce bill to increase number of SC Judges
- Cabinet has decided to introduce bill to increase the number of Supreme Court Judges from 30 to 33 excluding Chief Justice of India. Government in 2016 had also increased the number of High Court judges from 906 to 1079.
Conference on Countering Rogue Drones’ in New Delhi
- In the ‘Conference on Countering Rogue Drones’ in New Delhi, Rakesh Asthana, Director General, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security said, Ministry had constituted a committee for finding out best available counter drone solutions and standards to safeguard civil aviation against possible drone attacks in India.
Landmark Consumer Protection Bill, 2019 gets Parliamentary approval
- The Parliament gave its nod to the landmark Consumer Protection Bill, 2019 which aims to protect the rights of consumers by establishing authorities for timely and effective administration and settlement of consumers’ dispute. The Bill will replace the more than three decades old Consumer Protection Act, 1986.
MoU Between Indian Navy and CIAL
- A Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) between Naval Air Enclave (NAE), Kochi and Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) was signed in a formal function held at CIAL. The Memorandum of Understanding lays down Standard Operating Procedures and their adherence by CIAL and the Indian Navy, for ensuring safe, secure and uninterrupted military air operations.
MoU between AWHO and Tata Realty
- A historic milestone was reached with the signing of an MoU between Indian Army’s Army Welfare Housing Organization (AWHO) and Tata Realty & Housing on 22 Aug 2019.The MoU enables the personnel of Indian Army to immediately take over dwelling units in 13 ‘Ready to Move in’ projects of Tata Realty pan India spread over 10 cities including Gurugram, Chennai, Bengaluru, Pune among others at a discount ranging from 11% to 27%.
MoU Signed between Department of Social Justice & Empowerment and NACO
- A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed here today between the Department of Social Justice, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and National AIDS Control Organization (NACO,)Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. One of the important feature of Mou is Inclusion of target groups of NACO and National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction (NAPDDR) in the programmes of NAPDDR & NACO for awareness generation.
MoU between Indian Navy and IMD
- A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Indian Navy (IN) and India Meteorological Department (IMD) was signed at Naval Base, Kochi on 28 Aug 19 for the handing over of Cyclone Detection Radar (CDR) building by IMD. The MoU will enable the Indian navy to utilise the CDR building within naval premises at Kochi for meteorological purposes.
