UIDAI Adds 79 Lakh Children to Bal Aadhaar – Check the Details Here!!! The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) introduced by the central government has become an important document for various services. These documents serve as an identity proof for every individual from their birth onwards. Now, it is reported that more than 79 lakh children across the country have been registered for the Bal Aadhaar scheme in the first four months of the current financial year.

These Bal Aadhaar or Blue Aadhaar cards are issued to children from birth to 5 years of age. These cards become invalid when the child turns six years of age. Now by the end of July, the number of Bal Aadhaar card holders has increased to 3.43 crore. In states like Himachal Pradesh and Haryana, more than 70 percent of children have registered bal Aadhaar. Also, information has come out that this admission has been done well in many states and union territories including Jammu and Kashmir, Mizoram, Delhi, Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep.

Generally, Aadhaar cards contain an individual’s biometrics such as fingerprints and iris. But facial image of the child and biometric authentication of parent or guardian is sufficient for enrollment in Bal Aadhaar. When these Bal Aadhaar cards expire after five years, parents are advised to complete a process known as Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU). Meanwhile, in a circular issued by the central government on August 11, the UIDAI said that 99 percent of people in the country have been issued Aadhaar cards.
