UGC Released Guidelines To Infuse IKS In UG/PG Courses: The government of India has taken many initiatives to improve the curriculum status of the degree courses across the country by implementing and issuing new guidelines to the universities and institutions. Recently, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a guideline to infuse the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) into undergraduate/ Post graduate degree courses.

This system was recommended by the National Education Policy 2020. According to the report, the IKS has topics like Indian logic, Indian Linguistics, Indian Metallurgy, Indian Architecture, Indian Algebra, Indian Astronomical Instruments, Indian Iconography, Indian Musical Instruments, and Water management system before the British period to incorporate with higher education courses.
UGC has instructed the department to ensure that all the students under 4-year UG courses should be encouraged to take up any adequate courses in IKS and the students under PG courses would also instructed to do the same. As of now, UGC has set it in a draft and soon the updates will be released.
