UGC NET 2021 Notification Released – Direct Link to Apply (May): University Grant Commission (UGC) has released the notification for the UGC NET December 2020 Cycle (May 2021).  Candidates can apply online from 02.02.2021 to 02.03.2021. As per the notification, the NET examination will take place from 02.05.2021 to 17.05.2021. Candidates, who want to apply for NET exam, can get complete details of the exam in this page.

UGC NET Exam Details:

UGC-NET is an examination to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for ‘Assistant Professor’ and ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’. NTA will conduct the examination behalf of UGC. UGC-NET will be conducted from 02.05.2021 to 17.05.2021. The mode of the examination is CBT (Computer Based Test). The Test will consist of two papers. Both the papers will consist of objective type, multiple choice questions. There will be no break between papers.

Paper I:

The questions in Paper I set to assess the teaching/ research aptitude of the aspirant. This session will contain the questions to test the reasoning ability, reading comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. There are 50 number of questions are provided in the session for 100 marks.

Paper II:

This is based on the subject selected by the candidate and will assess domain knowledge. There are 100 questions will be asked for 200 marks. The consolidate timing of 180 minute (03 hour) will be provided for this examination. There is no break between these papers. The medium of Question Paper shall be in English & Hindi only

UGC NET 2021 Eligibility:

Candidates who belong to the following category are eligible to apply for this examination.

• General/Unreserved/General-EWS candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s Degree or equivalent examination
• Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to Non-Creamy Layer/Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Persons with Disability (PwD)/Third gender category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination
• Candidates who are pursuing their Master’s degree or equivalent course or candidates who have appeared for their qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination
• D. degree holders whose Master’s level examination have been completed by 19 September 1991 and equivalent. Candidates can check detailed eligibility for this examination by download the notification. The direct link is provided below in this page.

UGC NET Age Limit:

The age of the candidates should not more than 31 years as on 1st day of the month in which the examination is concluded i.e. 01.03.2021 to apply for this examination.

UGC NET 2021 Exam Fee:

Candidates should pay the examination fee of Rs. 1000 for those aspirants belong to General/Unreserved category. For those people who belong to Gen-EWS/ OBC-NCL may pay the fee of Rs.500 and for Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribes (ST) / Person with Disability (PwD) and Third gender, the examination fee is Rs.250/-. The last date to pay the fee is 03 March 2021.
