Govt plans to have at least one PMBJP Kendra in each block of country by end of 2020
Union Government plans to have at least one Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya JanAushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) Kendra in each block of the country by end ofcurrent year.
- This was stated by Union Minister of State in the Prime minister’s Office Dr.Jitendra Singh while participating in ‘Jan Aushadhi Diwas’ celebration inKathua. He said the government launched the PMBJP to promote affordable andquality generic medicines among the people.

Maharaja Ranjit Singh named greatest world leader in BBC Poll
Maharaja Ranjit Singh, the 19th century ruler of the Sikh Empire in India, has named as the ‘Greatest Leader of All Time’ in a poll conducted by BBC World Histories Magazine. Singh was praised for creating a new tolerant empire, by 5,000 voted readers.

The traditional “Fagli” festival at kinnaur district in Yangpa village, Himachal Pradesh. This festival is celebrated to denote the end of the winter and the start of the Spring. It is mainly celebrated on the moonless night.

Jegan Mohan Reddy lauched NIGHA app to control electoral malpractices in Run-Up to Local Body Polls
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched the ‘NIGHA’ mobile application where citizens can report electoral malpractices in the run-up to the local body elections in the state.
- The app launched by the Department of Panchayati Raj empowers citizens to report illegal distribution of money and liquor, and has provisions to upload photos and videos as well.

India ranks 46th out of 100 countries, Sweden tops : Inclusive Internet Index 2020
Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) released the 4th iteration of the Inclusive Internet Index 2020 for 100 countries where India is overall ranked in 46th place & Sweden in 1st place.
- The 1st country ranked is Sweden, followed by New Zealand(2nd) & the US(3rd). Australia & Denmark both ranked 4th, followed by South Korea (6th), Canada(7th), the United Kingdom(8th), France(9th) , Spain(10th) & Pakistan(76th).

Jack Ma overtook Mukesh Ambani to become Asias richest man
Jack Ma topped the list with a $44.5 billion fortune, which is $2.6 billion more than Ambani. Earlier, in mid-2018, Ma topped the list.
- Bloomberg Billionaires Index reported that Jack Ma became Asia’s richest man. Mukesh Ambani, who stood as Asia’s richest man, has moved to the second position after oil prices collapsed along with global stocks.
- The novel coronavirus erased $5.8 billion from Ambani’s net worth on and pushed him to No.2 on the list of Asia’s richest people.

Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University Vice-Chancellor V Praveen Rao has won the 7th Dr MS Swaminathan Award for the period 2017-2019.
- The Selection Committee has decided to select Praveen Rao for the award recognising his contributions in the fields of agricultural research, teaching, extension and administration.
- The MS Swaminathan award was constituted by Retired ICAR Employees Association (RICAREA) and Nuziveedu Seeds Limited (NSL).

Top Indian shuttler PV Sindhu won the BBC Indian Sportswoman of the Year 2019. The award ceremony was hosted by BBC Director-General Tony Hall.
- She has secured five world championship medals. She is the first Indian singles badminton player to win an Olympic silver medal.

Maltese Footballer Andre Schembri, 33 years old, is currently playing for Chennaiyin FC’s (Football Club) announced that he will retire from professional football after the Hero Indian Super League (ISL) final against ATK FC in Goa on March 14, 2020. He announced retirement from international football in November 2018 after 94 appearances for his nation.

Indian batting sensation Shafali Verma today lost the top spot in the ICC women’s T20 International rankings as she slipped to third after managing only two runs in the World Cup final against Australia in Melbourne.
- Deepti, Radha Yadav and Poonam Yadav occupied the sixth, seventh and eighth spots in the bowlers ranking led by England’s Sophie Ecclestone.
