To Carry Out NEP, 500 New Professors Required – Said Officials of HGCTA: All India Federation of University and College Teachers Organizations (AIFUCTO) has been conducting the 32nd academic conference from March 17 to 19, 2023. In the meeting today the official of the Himachal Pradesh Government College Teachers Association (HGCTA) said that to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) in HP, we need to recruit 500 more professors.
According to the officials, out of 133 colleges in the state, 100 colleges are not having proper staff facilities, and 30 colleges have only 2 or 3 professors. The HP is planning to be a state model to implement the NEP in colleges but due to the lack of professors, this may take time to implement the NEP in the state.
HGCTA general secretary Mr. R L Sharma said that without the proper facility and staff in colleges, it is not able to implement the NEP in the state, which would be miserable if we do that said Sharma. The theme of the AIFUCTO is “75 Years of Independence: State of Higher Education in India”. More than 2000 officials from all over the country are attending the meeting.
