TNUSRB SI Selection Process:

Candidates who qualify in the written examination, only five times of the number of notified vacancies in each of the category shall be permitted for next stage of selection i.e. PMT, ET, PET and Original Certificate Verification based on the merit

TNUSRB SI Provisional Selection:

After completion of the Viva-Voce the candidates will be provisionally selected for the post of Sub-Inspector of Police (TK, AR and TSP) based on the marks obtained by them in written examination, PET, Viva-Voce and Special marks and age eligibility by following the rule of Communal Reservation.

TNUSRB SI Provisional Select List:

Provisional Select List is drawn based on the total marks obtained in the Written Examination, Physical Efficiency Test, Viva-Voce and Special marks for the post of Sub-Inspector of Police (TK, AR and TSP) subject to communal reservation and total vacancies.
If there is a tie in marks, the candidate seniority in age shall be given priority in selection.
If the marks secured are equal and date of birth is same, preference shall be given to the candidate who is an outstanding scout, having received an award from the President of India.
Persons recruited to the post of Sub-Inspector of Police (TK, AR and TSP) under the 20% police departmental quota shall be placed above the direct recruits selected from open quota in the same recruitment.
20% of all vacancies shall be set apart for open candidates on preferential basis for the persons who studied the prescribed Degree in Tamil medium.
20% preference for having studied in Tamil Medium in Degree will not be considered for departmental quota candidates. g. The provisional select list will be published in the Board’s website www.tnusrbonline.org.

Next Level of Selection Process Physical Measurement Test:

The norms for open candidates for Physical Measurement Test are as follows:-

		Exempted from Physical Measurement Test

All the Physical measurements (Height / Chest) will be rounded off to the nearest centimeter or the nearest 0.5 centimeter, as the case may be.

Rounding off of Height and Chest Measurements:

All the Physical Measurements (Height/Chest) will be rounded off to the nearest 0.5 cm to take care of margin of error up to 0.2cm and recorded accordingly. [ i.e. the 0.2 cm nearest to the rounded number should be rounded to the nearest rounded number (i.e. 169.8‡170 fl170.2). Likewise 0.2 cm before or after the nearest 0.5 cm should be rounded to the nearest 0.5 cm (i.e. 166.8‡167fl167.2)]. The same procedure should be followed Chest measurement. The same procedure should also be followed for women candidates during height measurement.

Appeal in Physical Measurement Test: When a candidate is dissatisfied with his/her measurement, he/she can make of an appeal to the Sub-Committee Chairman regarding height / chest re-measurement.

Physical Measurement Test is qualifying nature.

No Physical Measurement Test for Ex-servicemen, Ex-CPMF and serving personnel.

The candidates who qualify in the Physical Measurement Test will be allowed to participate in the Endurance Test.
