The Candidates will be Selected based on the 3 Stage Process of: Preliminary Examination, Main Written Examination and Interview.

TNPSC Group 1 Exam Pattern:

PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION (SINGLE PAPER) (OBJECTIVE TYPE):

  • The Exam questions on General Studies for Preliminary and Main Written Examination will be set both in Tamil and English.
  • The Preliminary Examination is meant to serve as a screening test only.
  • The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination by the candidates who are declared qualified for admission to the Main Written Examination

  • The Main Written Examination answer sheets of Paper-II, Paper-III and Paper-IV will be evaluated, only if the candidate secures minimum qualifying marks [40%- i.e., 40 marks] in Paper-I
  • The marks secured in Paper-I will not be taken into account for ranking.
  • Appearance in all the papers of the Main Written Examination and the Oral Test is compulsory.
  • The final selection will be made based on the total marks obtained by the candidates in the Main Written Examination Paper-II, Paper-III, Paper-IV and Oral Test taken together, subject to Rule of Reservation of Appointment
