In Tamil Nadu, admission for super specialty medical courses is given through 50% reservation to government doctors. However, private doctors had filed a case in the Supreme Court against the 50% of reservation to government doctors. At that time, the Supreme Court had allowed this 50 percent quota for government doctors.
Accordingly, in the previous academic years, admission to higher medical courses was conducted on the basis of 50% reservation. This practice has been allowed to continue this year as well. Also, the Supreme Court has ordered that the admissions should be conducted in the next 15 days.
