The Tamil Nadu School Education Department has announced a holiday beginning on October 1 following the quarter and first term examinations. In this, government school students in grades I through V are allowed a break until the 12th; students in grades VI through Plus 2 are given a break until the 9th.
At the same time, no announcement regarding the holiday for children in private schools was made by the school education department. The news in this regard was reported in our publication.All private matriculation schools should open on the 10th after the quarterly examination holiday, according to a circular given to the schools yesterday by Karuppasamy, the director of matriculation for the Tamil Nadu School Education Department.
Some schools have contacted the administrators of the school education department in this instance to arrange special classes. The authorities have cautioned against holding classes for other subjects without parental permission.
