In order to reduce the study load of the students, a reduced syllabus for 10th and 12th class students was released on February, 2022.
The State Examinations Department has announced that the question papers for the Higher Secondary First and Second Year / Intermediate School Leave Certificate General Examination, May 2022 will be issued as per the reduced syllabus offered by the State Institute of Educational Research and Training for the academic year 2021-2022.
In a circular sent to all Primary Education Officers by the Director of State Examinations, SethuramaVerma, he said, “As per the reduced syllabus offered by the State Institute of Educational Research and Training for the academic year 2021-2022, the question papers for the Higher Secondary (First and Second Year) / Intermediate School Certificate General Examination, May 2022 will be issued.

Tamil Nadu school education minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi said that the board exams for Class 12 students will commence from May 5. He said that exams for Class 11 students will be conducted from May 9 and those for Class 10 on May 6.
The minister, while speaking to mediapersons said, “The public exams for Class 12 students will take place from May 5 to May 28. The Class 11 public examinations will be held from May 9 to May 31 and public examinations for Class 10 students will be held from May 6 to May 30.”
