TISS and Govt of Maharashtra sign MoU!!! Vocational Training to 15000 Students.Under the Maharashtra Young Leaders Aspiration Development Program (MYLAP), the School of Vocational Education (SVE), Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS), and Samagra Shiksha, Government of Maharashtra, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Mumbai to provide employment and vocational training to 15,000 Class 12 students in Maharashtra.

Additionally present at the MoU signing ceremony were Dr. Tania Shaw, Program Head, SVE-TISS, Prof. Madhushree Sekher, Dean, School of Vocational Education, SVE-TISS, and Shri Ranjit Singh Deol (I.A.S.), Hon’ble Secretary, School Education, and Sports Department.

Deepak Kesarkar, the minister of Maharashtra’s school system, was present when the MoU was signed.The MoU aims to achieve the National Education Policy 2020 goal of bringing vocational education to 50% of schools by 2025.

Through agreements with 3750 businesses spread out over India, TISS-SVE is able to provide students with hands-on training in a variety of skill categories. The School of Vocational Education’s ecosystem is made up of over 200 service providers, 500 academic members, and domain experts. Together, they form and contribute to the ecosystem’s overall strength.

The state already has the Milap project ongoing under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan in cooperation with HCL. A total of 34,000 individuals have signed up for that programme, and 25,000 of them will be hired. Nearly 15,000 students will have access to educational and job possibilities following the new MoU with TISS.
