As of now, six percent reservation in state government jobs for the ST community implemented. Talking about this reservation, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said that his government will soon issue an order to increase the reservation for Scheduled Tribes in government jobs and educational institutions to 10 percent.
Earlier, a bill regarding 10 percent reservation for Scheduled Tribes was passed in the Telangana Assembly in April 2017 and sent to the Center for President’s assent. However, it is worth noting that the details of the reservation, which have been denied for six years, have now been resolved.
