India’s Top IT Firms Reduce New Hiring – What is the Plan of TCS, Infosys? Due to the impact caused by the covid virus among all over the countries of the world, from the educational institutions to the various types of industries have been shut down till date. During this period many of the office workers, especially the information technology workers were converted to the WFH system. But these IT companies had filed a massive hiring during the covid pandemic.
In particular, India’s leading IT companies such as TCS, Infosys, HCL has added lakhs of freshers. This number was recorded in thousands at each quarter of the last two financial year. Accordingly, after hiring a record number of employees in the last quarter of FY 2021-22, India’s leading IT companies have reduced net headcount in the first quarter of the current fiscal year. On regarding this, India’s biggest IT firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys and HCL Technologies added just 37,396 employees in the April-June quarter. This number was 68,257 in the January to March quarter.
Moreover, Wipro and Tech Mahindra has added 22,308 new hiring over the previous quarter. Following this, HCL said that, it plans to hire 30,000 to 35,000 new employees by the 3rd quarter of the current financial year. Likewise, this action would be the highest number in the last five or six quarters, HCL said. Similarly, Wipro plans to add more than 30,000 new employees in the next quarter. Also, TCS wish to hire 40,000 new people in this fiscal year.
