Women’s Science Congress Union Minister for Textiles Smriti Irani has inaugurated the Women’s Science Congress at the Lovely Professional University in Jalandhar. Women’s Science Congress is a part of of the 106th Indian Science Congress. This is the eighth chapter of the Women’s Science Congress since it started in 2012. The objective of the Women’s Science Congress is to showcase the work of women scientists.
Global Investors Summit The two-day Global Investors Summit, being organised by Tamil Nadu government, began in Chennai. It is being participated by about five thousand delegates from industries in India and abroad.
‘Women of India Organic Festival’ The Ministry of Women and Child Development is organising the three-day 6th ‘Women of India Organic Festival’ at Chandigarh, to celebrate and promote women farmers and entrepreneurs in the organic sector from the remotest parts of India.
World Orange Festival The second World Orange Festival will be organised in Nagpur till 21 of this month. The festival, while offering its famed oranges to the world, will also showcase and brand the exquisite fruit in order to boost its export.
World Economic Forum annual meet The World Economic Forum,WEF, annual meet will begin in Davos. Theme of the event would be ‘Globalization 4.0: Shaping a Global Architecture in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution’
2nd World Integrated Medicine Forum 2019 The 2nd World Integrated Medicine Forum 2019 on the Regulation of Homeopathic Medical Products will be held in Goa from 23rd January. AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik will inaugurate the three day forum.
International Stock Taking Conference on Tiger Conservation The 3rd Stock Taking Conference on Tiger Conservation was inaugurated in New Delhi.
4th Edition of Raisina Dialogue The fourth edition of the Raisina Dialogue will begin in New Delhi. The theme of the Dialogue this year is “A World Reorder: New Geometries; Fluid Partnerships; Uncertain Outcomes”.
1st Annual Disarmament, International Security Affairs Fellowship Programme Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale inaugurated the First Annual Disarmament and International Security Affairs Fellowship Programme in New Delhi. The programme aims at equipping participants with knowledge and perspectives on various issues related to disarmament, non-proliferation, arms control and international security.

National Conclave on Technical Textiles

  • Ministry of Textiles will hold National Conclave on Technical Textiles on 29th January 2019 in Mumbai. The event will also be a curtain raiser for TechnoTex 2019.The conclave will be presided over by the Union Minister of Textiles, Smriti Zubin Irani.

Fourth edition of Bharat Parv

  • Fourth edition of Bharat Parv, showcasing the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat will begin at Red Fort in Delhi. It will continue till 31st January. The objective of this festival is to generate a patriotic fervour and promote rich cultural diversity of the country.

Vibrant Gujarat Summit

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 9th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors Summit on January 18, in the presence of five heads of states and also over one hundred diplomats and captains of the country’s industries.

4th Meeting of CTDP

  • Union Minister for Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation, Suresh Prabhu, chaired the 4th meeting of the Council for Trade Development and Promotion (CTDP) in New Delhi.

10th edition of the India Rubber Expo – 2019

  • Union Minister for Commerce and Industries, Suresh Prabhu inaugurated the 10th edition of the India Rubber Expo – 2019 in Mumbai. The India Rubber Expo is Asia’s largest rubber expo.

Indus Food 2019

  • INDUS FOOD-II with the theme of ‘World Food Supermarket’ will be held on 14th and 15th January, 2019, at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida. The event is aimed at promoting India as a strong and reliable exporter of food and beverage products to the world.

BES EXPO 2019

  • Information and Broadcasting Secretary Amit Khare and TRAI Chairman RS Sharma inaugurated the 25th International conference and exhibition on terrestrial and satellite broadcasting, BES EXPO 2019 in New Delhi.

India Steel 2019 Exhibition and Conference

  • India Steel 2019 Exhibition and Conference will begin in Mumbai. The three-day event organised by Ministry of Steel will help chart out the future growth path of the steel industry.

25th edition of Partnership Summit

  • The 25th edition of Partnership Summit 2019, a global platform for dialogue, debate, deliberation and engagement among Indian and global leaders on economic policy and growth trends in India, is being held in Mumbai. The two-day event will be inaugurated by the Vice President of India, M Venkaiah Naidu.

Regional Conference on ‘Deendayal Disabled Rehabilitation Scheme’

  • A Regional Conference on ‘Deendayal Disabled Rehabilitation Scheme’ was held in Mumbai. Programme Implementing Agencies including NGOs and state government representatives from Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Goa were present for the conference.

National conference on Agriculture-Zaid/summer campaign 2019

  • Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ welfare organised a national conference on Agriculture-Zaid/summer campaign 2019 in New Delhi. The objective of the conference was to discuss about the prospects of boosting production in the upcoming Zaid/summer cropping season.

Poster exhibition on relevance of Bhagavad Gita

  • A poster exhibition on the relevance of Bhagavad-Gita combined with the thoughts of Mahatma Gandhi is being organized under the aegis of the Consulate General of India, Dubai and VijnanVikas Pattern Institute.
  • The two day exhibition which will be inaugurated this evening by the Consul General Vipul will showcase a variety of hand-crafted Khadi products from the Khadi Gramodyog Bhavan.
  • The exhibition is being organized as part of the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi.

Workshop On Public Sector Enterprises

  • A One Day Workshop on Public Sector Enterprises on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) was held under the aegis of the National Water Mission (NWM), in partnership with the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) at New Delhi.

National Symposium of Poets

  • The 64th National Symposium of Poets, organised by All India Radio, started in Chennai. 23 poets, representing all 22 languages in the Ninth Schedule of the Indian Constitution are participating in the symposium.

Harvest festival on eve of Makar Sankranti

  • Farmers from across the country begin celebrating the harvest festival on the eve of Makar Sankranti which is being celebrated. The festival is seen as a celebration of the end of the winter and also marks the end of the winter harvest.
  • The festival is known with different names in different parts of the country with celebrations continuing for a couple of days. It is celebrated as Pongal in Tamil Nadu, Uttarayan in Gujarat, Bhogali Bihu in Assam and Poush Sankranti in West Bengal.

ICAR launched NAHEP

  • Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) launches National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP) to attract talent and strengthen higher agricultural education in the country.
  • The second Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) of the country established in Barahi, Jharkhand.

Inter-Session Consultative Committee Meeting

  • Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Shri Ram Vilas Paswan chairs Inter-Session Consultative Committee Meeting in Bengaluru to review functioning of Food Corporation of India & Bureau of Indian Standards.

 ‘Vande Bharat Express’

  • Indian Railways has named the indigenously manufactured Train 18 as Vande Bharat Express.
  • It is India’s first semi-high speed train equipped with world class passenger amenities and is set to run between Delhi and Varanasi at a maximum speed of 160 kmph.

Community Radio Awareness workshop

  • Shri Ajay Kumar Gupta, Secretary Power and Civil Supplies, Andaman and Nicobar Administration inaugurated Community Radio Awareness workshop in the conference hall of the TSG Emerald View in Port Blair.
  • The Workshop is being organized by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in partnership with Seeking Modern Applications For Real Transformation (SMART).

‘Bharat Yatra’

  • The Swasth Bharat Yatra, the world’s biggest cyclothon to push people to eat right, culminated in New Delhi. The campaign was flagged-off on 16th October last year on the occasion of World Food Day. Message – ‘Eat Safe, Eat Healthy and Eat Fortified’.

42ndmeeting of the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee

  • The Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs has approved the construction of another 4,78,670 more affordable houses for the benefit of urban poor under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). The approval was given in the 42ndmeeting of the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee held in New Delhi.

PETROTECH-2019

  • PETROTECH-2019, the 13th International Oil & Gas Conference & Exhibition, being organised under the aegis of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Government of India, is all set to be inaugurated on February 10, 2019.

National Conference on Anti Doping

  • The conference is jointly organized by National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) and Physical Education Foundation of India(PEFI) under the aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. Sports Minister Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore addressed the concluding session of two days National Conference on Anti Doping.
