Startups Campus Hiring 2023: Business Schools than Engineering Colleges this year.Due to a slowdown in the pace of funding, a focus on profitability, a wave of recent layoffs, as well as general warning and austerity measures implemented by most corporations, campus hiring from the Class of 2023 by startups and ecommerce businesses is likely to see some pullback compared to last year’s highs.
ET inquired about their university employment goals with more than a dozen recruiters from the ecosystem. While some companies, including Zomato, Indus Insights, and ProcMart, said their campus hiring goals had increased since the previous year, others, like Razorpay, Simplilearn, CashKaro, and NoBroker, suggested their numbers might be flat or even decline.
Although Paytm and Dream Sports hinted that they would visit colleges, they remained mum on their hiring plans for the class of 2023. The most renowned recruiters from the previous year told ET off the file that the hiring statistics could be rationalised. “We may visit campuses, but we’ll use extreme caution.

There will be some hiring because of connections, but fewer offers than last year, according to Krishna Kumar, chief executive of edtech startup Simplilearn. Plans have not yet been finalised, but according to Kumar, the company is likely to hire more people from business schools than from engineering schools this year.
