  • Rajasthan Royals’ Riyan Parag has become the youngest player to score an IPL half-century. The 17-year-old from Assam achieved this feat against Delhi Capitals in a match in New Delhi.

First in Indian cricket: Women State captains to have voice at BCCI Conclave

  • During the May 17 conclave in Mumbai, the captains and coaches of the women’s State teams will be joining their male counterparts in giving an assessment of the just-concluded domestic season. In a first, the BCCI will be inviting all the State captains of the women’s teams at its ‘Annual Domestic Captains and Coaches Conclave’.

  • The Committee of Administrators said that the much awaited BCCI elections will be held on October 22. The CoA announced the elections date after due consultation with the apex court appointed amicus curiae P.S. Narsimha.

  • Federation International de Football Association (FIFA) announced two new award categories to promote women’s football across the globe. The two new award categories are off Women’s goalkeeper of the year and a women’s team of the year.

  • Located 15km south of Doha, the Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah will host group stage matches and a quarterfinal game of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Manu Bhaker secures India 7th Olympic quota

  • In shooting, young shooter Manu Bhaker secured India its seventh Olympic quota with a fourth-place finish in the women’s 10 meter air pistol event of the ISSF World Cup in Munich, Germany,. This is India’s first quota in women’s 10 meter pistol.

  • In Shooting, India produced their best ever show at the ISSF World Cup with a total tally of five gold medals in Munich, Germany. By capturing five of the 10 gold medals,Indian shooting was able to assert its class and firepower. China did win nine medals, but had only two gold.
