Skybuses in India: Travel at a speed of around 100kmh – Introduced soon!! Details Here. NitinGadkari, the federal minister for road transport and roads, believes that the country’s capital and neighbouring states could benefit from the country’s first skybus soon on specific parts of Delhi and Haryana.

Gadkari stated during his speech at a Boston Consulting Group (BCG) event that the introduction of skybuses on some routes is one of his top priorities for the government, as economic progress while causing pollution is not a wise course of action. He stated, without going into further detail, “I intend to establish skybuses (public transport service) from DhaulaKuan to Manesar and eventually extend it to Sohna to minimise traffic and pollution.”

When compared to the Metro, a skybus is a train system that uses elevated tracks with cars dangling below. A skybus system was created by Indian technologist B. Rajaram and is comparable to the Wuppertal Schwebebahn or German H-Bahn systems. In 2004, the Indian government began testing the skybus metro, but it was later suspended when an accident claimed the lives of one employee and injured three others.

Skybuses are electric-powered vehicles that have a top speed of about 100 km/h. The journey from DhaulaKuan to Manesar will take about 24 minutes if Gadkari’s plan to launch the Skybus subway is successful.

In addition, Gadkari stated that the government’s top goal is producing green hydrogen from water, and that his dream is for India to import no fossil fuels in the future. The minister emphasised the necessity of promoting the use of ethanol for transportation because it is indigenous, affordable, and pollution-free. “We will produce ethanol from rice, which will increase agriculture growth in the nation,” he stated. Gadkari added that it would be detrimental to the economy to outlaw thermal power plants.
