Schools Will Be Closed Till June 17 Due To Disaster Preventive Measures In Assam: The education department of Assam has ordered to close the schools in the Dima Hasao district for five days from June 13 to June 17 due to the forecast of heavy rainfall by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). The heavy rainfall in the district has made the situation worse and also predicted that heavy landslides will occur in the next 10 days.
The order has been issued by the Inspector of schools which states that the schools that come around greater Haflong/Harangajao/Mahur and other landslides prone are remains closed for the above-mentioned dates. The government has made the necessary preventive measures.
The district administration has also issued an alert of very heavy rainfall in the Dima Hasao district, it is expected that a major disaster will happen and the Deputy Commissioner cum Chairman of Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Mr. Simanta Kr Das has requested people not to go to risky areas during the rainfall.
