SC to hear plea for cancellation of CBSE Compartment Exams 2020. The Supreme Court will hear a plea seeking cancellation of CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 compartment exams shortly. The petition, that also prays for declaration of exam dates in case CBSE doesn’t cancel exams, would be heard by a three-judge bench headed by Justice AM Khanwilkar. A compartment exam is conducted for students who could not pass in one or two subjects in Class X or XII board exams. The CBSE gives three chances to such students to clear the compartment exam.
A bench of judges headed by Justice AM Khanwilkar would hear the petition which is seeking an alternate direction to declare the dates in case CBSE does not cancel the compartment exams 2020. The students have raised the demand to pass those to appear in compartment exams with grace marks or internal assessment.
As per the letter written by AISA, “over 2.2 lakh students including students of your state found themselves in the Compartment category by 1-7 marks. The students demand the cancellation of the Compartment exam for the following reasons.”
Central Board of Secondary Education has started the online application process for CBSE Compartment Exams 2020 for Class 10, 12 from August 12, 2020. Students may please note that the actual dates for compartment exams would be announced at a later date.
Along with the compartment examinations as well as improvement examination, Class 10 students who had applied for and was appearing in an Additional Subject in the Computer Applications (Code 165) and Information and Communication Technology (Code 166) which were to be held on 20th March 2020 but the examination in the subjects has been cancelled can also apply for the compartment examination.
