Covid-19: Puducherry Government Announce Complete 22 Hours Daily Lockdown From Today!!!!

In view of the rising cases of COVID-19 across the country, the Puducherry Lt Governor announced that a complete curfew of 22 hours will be observed daily from today due to the increasing spread of corona in Pondicherry.

The COVID-19 situation in India has been worsening amid the second wave of coronavirus infections. For the past days, the country has been reporting in over three lakh coronavirus infections and over 1,000 related deaths on a daily basis.

Police and local administrations will be strictly enforcing these directions. We seek the cooperation of public in this regard. The Department of Health claims that infection can only be controlled through activities such as social spacing and wearing a mask. People are advised to stay at home without going outside.

Thus, the central and state governments have imposed so many strict restrictions on night curfews, full curfews on weekends, and only partial curfews. It is also speeding up vaccination work.

Curfew is currently in effect in many states. Following this, the government has decided to a 22-hour daily curfew in Pondicherry as a preventive measure as the spread of corona is increasing day by day. The 22-hour curfew is set to take effect today. Accordingly, a 22-hour curfew will be in effect from 12 noon to 10 am the next day, said by the Puducherry Deputy Governor Tamilisai Saundarajan. It has also been announced that all the shops selling essential items will be open only for 2 hours.

As per an official letter, all shops should decide on the timings of closing their shops in such a manner that all of them will be back to their residences.

Furthermore essential services will be permitted like petrol pump, banks, insurance offices, ATMs, media, electricity supply tele-communication, cold storages, warehouses, fire, e-commerce and election-related work.

Apart from this, people involved in government essential services will be allowed with their ID cards.
