Pondicherry Education Department Declares Holiday On Aug 26: In Pondicherry, the UT education department has planned to shut the schools on August 26, 2023 (Saturday) to arrange for the LDC (Lower Division Clerk)/Store Keeper competitive exam, the exam has been scheduled on 27.08.2023 (Sunday).

The exam has been conducted to fill up the vacant 165 LDC/Store Keeper grade-3 posts in the various departments across the territory. Over 47,000 candidates applied for this exam and the exam has been scheduled to be held in 137 centers.
The hall ticket for this exam is available on the https://recruitment.py.gov.in/ website. Previously, the education department has planned to function schools on all Saturdays due to the extension of summer vacation but the department has declared on August 26 to make pre-examination arrangements.
