PM Modi Will Inaugurate 11 New Medical Colleges and Central Institute of Classical Tamil Campus: Target to translate ‘Thirukkural’ in 100 Foreign Languages: PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate 11 new medical colleges in Tamil Nadu and new campus of Central Institute of Classical Tamil on 12th January 2022 through video conferencing. In previous, PM supposed to visit the state especially ‘Maduari’ on 12th January 2022 for Celebrate ‘Pongal’ trended as ‘Modi Pongal’. But now the plan was cancelled due to the state government has issued new guidelines to prohibit political parties from organizing gatherings as precaution for COVID 19 3rd wave.

So that the events of inaugurating eleven New Government Medical Colleges across Tamil Nadu and the new campus of Central Institute of Classical Tamil in Chennai will be held via video conferencing at 04.00 PM. These eleven new medical colleges will increase the MBBS seats by 1450. This will be a part of the PM vision to improve health infrastructure all across country.

About Rs 4000 crore was estimated as the cost for new medical colleges. Out of this amount, nearly Rs. 2145 crore will be provided by the Central government and remaining amount will be funded by TN State government.  Inaugurating and establishing these medical colleges will be held established by centrally sponsored scheme of ’Establishing of New Medical Colleges attached with existing district/referral hospital’. Under the scheme, medical colleges are established in districts, which do not have either a government or private medical college.

Along with this, PM also inaugurated a new campus of Central Institute of Classical Tamil. This will be fully funded by Central Government. PM hopes this institute will play an essential role in preserving and promoting classical Tamil language. It also aims to translate and publish ‘Thirukkural’ in various Indian as well as 100 foreign languages. The institute library contains rich collection of over 45,000 ancient Tamil Books. However, all these facilities will be helpful for the need and serve the classical language to enlighten to the growing path.
