Official Statement:
The official order states that “After end of summer vacation, Universities and Degree Colleges (under Higher Education Department) shall resume online classes from 1st June, 2021. Physical classroom teaching shall not commence now. Hostels will remain closed till further order”. The government has already announced that “All educational institutions coming under the administrative control of the Department shall have summer vacation from May 5 to May 31. Standard vacation arrangements should be put in place for the functioning of the institutions during the vacation, including COVID-19 related lockdown or shutdown period falling within the summer vacation”

Online Class:
Previously on 4 May, all higher educational institutions within the State had announced summer holidays from 5 May to 31 May by the Government of Odisha. The department of higher education also said that during that period no online classes or exams will be held. Now the board has announced that, after summer vacation, universities and degree colleges affiliated with the Odisha government’s Higher Education Department will resume online classes from June 1.
Hostel Remain Closed:
However, due to the COVID 19 crisis, hostels will be closed until further notice. The Department of Higher Education in Odisha announced Saturday that the exam schedule will be communicated upon receipt of the UGC Decision. So, the students are advised to attend the online class. It is expected that the UGC will take the decision on exam schedule, soon. After that the board will release the notice regarding the exam. After this COVID 19 situation resolved, the board may open the hostel facility for the students. It may available after the board starts the offline class.
