NPCIL Selection Process 2021:

The written test will be conducted in Two Phases:

Phase 1 Preliminary Examination (Duration 1 hr)
Phase-2 Advanced Exam (Duration 2 Hours)

NPCIL Stipendiary Trainee Operator Exam Pattern, Syllabus 2021:

Phase 1 Preliminary Examination: This will be a sorting test to shortlist the candidates. The format of the Sorting Test will be common to all trades and will be in the format as follows:

(a) The test of 01 (one) hour will consist of a total of 50 questions of multiple choice type (options of 4 answers) in the following ratio:

Subjects	No. of Questions
Mathematics	20 Questions
Science	20 Questions
General Awareness	10 Questions

(b) 03 (three) marks will be awarded for each correct answer and 01 (one) mark will be deducted for wrong answer.

Phase-2- Advanced Examination: The examination will be conducted for a duration of 02 (Two) hours.

All the shortlisted candidates in Phase-I will have to appear in the advanced examination of their respective trade.
The said examination will be of 02 (two hours duration).
Category II Stipendiary Trainee (ST/TM) – Operator Category II Stipendiary Trainee (ST/TM)-Maintainer
The examination will consist of a total of 50 questions of multiple choice type (choice of 4 answers) carrying 03 (three) marks for each correct answer and 01 (one) mark will be deducted for wrong answer

STEP 3: SKILL TEST (ONLY CATEGORY – For the post of Stipendiary Trainee (ST/TM) – Maintainer)

Candidates of each trade will be shortlisted for skill test on the basis of merit list prepared after 1st phase 2. 2. The number of candidates shortlisted for skill test will depend on the number of candidates qualified for Phase-II but it will be not more than 5 times the number of vacancies in each post.
The skill test will be of qualifying nature only, on the basis of which the decision to go ahead / not to go will be taken. The candidates who qualify the skill test will be shortlisted and will be listed on the basis of merit on the basis of marks obtained in Phase 2. Note – Category There is no skill test for Stipendiary Trainee-Operator for which the specified qualifying marks is HSC ISC.
