According to new instructions released by the State Department of Education,
Lowering the weight of school bags, homework will not be assigned to students in grades kindergarten through two in any government or private schools in Madhya Pradesh.
The notice sent out this week, which was made accessible on Friday, instructed to make sure that children carried weighted school bags as directed by the department and to keep an eye on the homework assignments offered to the pupils.
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the Ministry of School Education are both in agreement with the principles, according to the notification. Additionally, according to the rules, school administrators must make sure that children are summoned into the building without a bag at least once per week.
Schools must post bag weight tables on notice boards and in classrooms, and the weight of the student’s journal should also be noted.
The Notification Stated That
The school management committee must create timetables for students so they are not forced to bring all of their textbooks to class every day and that their school bags do not exceed the specified weight limit.
Additionally, practise books, workbooks, and other crucial materials for children up to class 8 should only be kept in classrooms, according to a request made to schools.
It further stated that classes in areas like computer science, moral education, general science, health, physical education, sports, and the arts should be taught without the use of textbooks and that students’ backpacks should be small enough to fit comfortably on their shoulders.
Due to lowering the students weight of the school bags and also homework will not be assigned to students in grades kindergarten. It is good announcement for them.
