The Exam was scheduled to take place on June 5, 2021 by the Board.  On or before May 8, 2021, interested and qualified candidates may apply for the above-mentioned examination via the official website. This blog discusses the eligibility requirements, application fee, exam date, and other application information.

The GPAT/GATE/NET qualification and passing the qualifying degree with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or a CGPA of 6.75 on a 10-point scale anywhere grades are given or equivalent are the eligibility requirements for the Master’s Course. In the event that the concerned University/Institution has not prescribed any norm for calculating such percentage or CGPA, the percentage of marks or CGPA calculated will be based on the norms set by the concerned University/Institution or the candidate’s accumulated marks or CGPA for all years of the qualifying degree.

The candidates’ permission to participate in the online evaluation, counselling, group debate, and interview is only provisional. The candidate’s final consideration is contingent on meeting the eligibility requirements, which will be confirmed through counselling and/or community discussion and interview.

A standard question paper will be used for all Master’s programmes, including M.B.A. (Pharm.). There will be 200 objective multiple form choice questions on the exam. The question paper would be of a quality that is comparable to the syllabi of B.Pharm and PG degrees in the related fields. A few general aptitude questions will be asked. The exam will take two hours to complete.

In the online exam, there will be negative labelling, with each incorrect answer deducting 25% of the total score. Within a week of the online exam, the results will be posted on the Institute’s official website (www.niperhyd.ac.in). Each of the three fields, Chemical Sciences, Biological Sciences, and Pharmaceutical Sciences, will have one objective form question paper with 170 questions worth 85 points. The question paper will be of the same quality as the M.S. (Pharm.); M.Pharm. ; M.Tech. (Pharm. ); M.Tech/M.E., M.V.Sc., M.D., PharmD, and M.Sc. (in applicable discipline) syllabus.

There will also be questions about general ‘Pharmaceutical Sciences’ and general aptitude in each discipline. The exam will take two hours to complete. Negative marking will be used in the entrance test, with each incorrect answer deducting 25% of the total score. Each discipline’s eligible candidates will be required to attend an interview, which will be worth 15 points.
