National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) has released Notification for the post of Project Scientist – I (Civil, Physical Oceanography,Naval Architect / Ocean Engineering, Mechanical, ECE / E&I & EEE), Project Scientific Assistant (Civil, Mechanical, ECE / E&I & EEE) & Project Technician (Machinist/Fitter/Welder & Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation). Name of the Post: Project Scientist – I (Civil, Physical Oceanography,Naval Architect / Ocean Engineering, Mechanical, ECE / E&I & EEE), Project Scientific Assistant (Civil, Mechanical, ECE / E&I & EEE) & Project Technician (Machinist/Fitter/Welder & Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation)
Age Limit:
- For Project Scientist – I: Not exceeding 35 years
- For Project Scientific Assistant & Project Technician: Not exceeding 28 years

Education Qualification:
- Project Scientist – I (Civil, Naval Architect / Ocean Engineering, Mechanical, ECE / E&I & EEE): Candidate must have completed Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology in Civil Electronics and Communication / Electronics and Instrumentation & others from a recognized University / Institute or equivalent with at least first class not less than 60% marks.
- Project Scientist – I (Physical Oceanography): Candidate must have completed Master’s degree in Oceanography from a recognized University / Institute or equivalent with at least first class not less than 60% marks
- Project Scientific Assistant: Candidate must have completed Diploma in Civil Engineering & Mechanical/ Automobile/ Mechatronics engineering & others from a recognized Board / Institute or equivalent with at least first class not less than 60% marks.
- Project Technician: Candidate must have completed 10th Class Pass (Secondary/Metric) of a recognized board and ITI course in Mechanical / Fitter / Welder / Machinist & Electrical approved by National Council for vocational training or equivalent from a recognized Institutions.
Pay Scale:
- Project Scientist – I: Rs.55000/- per month
- Project Scientific Assistant: Rs.24000/-per month
- Project Technician: Rs.15000/-per month
Selection Process:
- Project Scientist – I: Candidates selection will be based on Walk-In-Interview.
- Project Scientific Assistant : Candidates selection will be based on Written Test and Skill Test.
- Project Technician: Candidates selection will be based on Trade Test / Written Test and Skill Test.
