Nearly 40,000 Layoffs Took Place in Major Tech Companies – Know the Company’s List Here!!! Many global technology companies have faced severe crises in the current year. Amid the economic crisis and cost cuttings, many leading IT companies were also involved in layoffs. Likewise, around 40,000 people have been affected by these unexpected layoffs worldwide.
On the other hand, these layoffs are still in progress. Now, here is the list of the top 10 companies that laid off more than 1000 employees in the 2022 year. Accordingly, Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram apps, topped the list with around 11,000 layoffs in 2022.
When Elon Musk took over Twitter, he dismissed 50 percent of the company’s total employees, i.e. nearly 8,000 people. Similarly, Getir laid off about 4,500 employees, Tesla laid off 3,500, Seagate 3,000, and Better 3,000. Also, Peloton laid off 2,800, Byju’s 2,500, Blinkit 1,600, and Microsoft 1,000.
