NASA Eligibility
- To apply for this post of Equipment Specialist at GS-13 level candidates should have minimum 1 year of work experience equivalent to the GS-12 level includes technical experience with integrated systems associated with structures and materials research facilities
- Candidates should have work experience in composite fabrication, the ability to program, operate and troubleshoot autoclaves, presses and ovens, data acquisition and control systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatics, vacuum systems, cryogenic and elevated temperature systems.
- Applicant should have knowledge in operating and troubleshooting arc jet facilities, data acquisition and control systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatics, vacuum systems, and optical measurement systems.
Equipment Specialist Job Description
- Equipment Specialist is responsible for accomplishes assembly, construction, installation, fabrication, maintenance, operation, repairs, and modification of research apparatus and test facilities.
- Applicant should perform work of a broad scope in the design, buildup, adaptation, and modification of mechanical systems or component parts.
- Candidate is responsible for maintaining facility Configuration Management Program documentation making drawing changes, procedure changes, facility resume changes, etc.
- Equipment Specialist is responsible for diagnoses problems with the test facilities and test articles. Adheres to existing operational procedures, modifying and developing special procedures.
