NASA Recruitment 2021 Educational Qualification:

The candidates who are willing to apply for this recruitment should have bachelor’s or graduate degree with a major in either engineering from a college or university that has ABET accredited engineering programs or Physical Science, Mathematics, Life Science, Computer Science*, or other field of physical science.

NASA Recruitment 2021 Experience:

• Aspirants should have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade. They are expected to have the specialized experience includes:
  Design, development, and testing of mechanical ground support equipment and flight hardware consisting of mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and structural systems.
• Design for manufacturability and working on manufacturing equipment such as manual and CNC lathes, mills, water jets, lasers, wire EDMs, welding, fluid system fabrication, sheet metal brakes, and additive manufacturing equipment.
• Mechanical engineering software such as Creo Parametric, Finite Element Modeling, Math Cad, and Wind chill PDM.

NASA Job Role:

The selected candidates will get the following responsibility as a AST – Mechanical Experimental Equipment

• Coordinates the development of designs for large multi-purpose, multiple-phase projects and serves as the lead mechanical engineer and designer for the branch.
• Serves as an adviser to engineers and project managers, providing cost estimates for design, manufacturing and testing tasks and giving authoritative advice relative to design for manufacturability.
• Operates as a senior subject matter expert, troubleshooter of the most complex matters that arise, and senior resource/engineer for technical manufacturing engineering issues that arise throughout the organization.
• Works closely with and collaborates with the branch manager on a wide range of functional and programmatic matters that contribute to the sound and effective operations of the branch. May act as supervisor in the chief?s absence.
• Serves as a technical engineering specialist in the manufacturing, test, checkout, and readiness of systems or equipment that involve new concepts and new and varied problems to be solved.
• Leads brainstorming sessions for developing solutions to complex and novel problems.
