Education Qualification
Candidate must have successfully completed a bachelor’s or graduate degree with a major in either
- Engineering from a college or university that has ABET accredited engineering programs (OR)
- Physical Science, Mathematics, Life Science, Computer Science*, or other field of physical science.
- Degrees in engineering technology are not considered to be qualifying for this position.

- Degrees must have been received in the year of, or any year subsequent to the original date of accreditation.
Required Experience
- Candidate must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position.
- To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level Reviewing test data for meeting requirements for Flight Vehicle or Launch Site systems checkout. technically managing or coordinating the Flight or Launch Site Systems checkout.

- Assures that systems design and/or checkout is compatible with Kennedy Space Center test philosophy; reviews new developments; and determines technical accuracy and adequacy of technical reports.
- Conducts engineering reviews, initiates changes or corrections based on established design criteria, plans and specifications.
- Establishes methods, procedures, priorities and/or schedules for completion of work objectives.
- Identifies problems and initiates necessary actions to meet objectives.
- Implements higher echelon policies, and reviews work of subordinates with authority to accept, amend or reject decisions or recommended courses of action.
- Provides assistance and technical guidance on unusual/controversial problems.
- Serves as a consultant by providing advice on research proposals and/or by developing approaches to technological problems related to developments in Ground Mechanical Systems for launch vehicles and spacecraft design work.
